Hey Amy! I'm catching up on all my friends' blogs that I haven't read in a few months because I am an insomna-maniac this evening. But I just got home from Bali last week & would love to chat with you about it if you come to Chicago! Keep in touch & hope you have a quick recovery - I'm in PT myself for lower back issues. Grrr aging... xoxo

i'm not going to get into "why are people still wearing things i stopped wearing 10 years ago", because everyone comes into fashions at different times in their lives. my point was that i know not everyone has these distinct visual cues as to when they went through different periods of their lives, but i certainly do. and because they are so distinct, it feels so much more disconnected from who i am now.

I look back on my whole hard-touring, I sell patchwork, queen of knotting hemp, can I give your dog some water wardrobe and think who the fuck was I? I evolved into a more ghetto hippie look (weird skate/urban brand cargo pants hanging off my hips, skate shoes, big spiked belts, tank tops, 555 Soul hoodies) and I can sit w. that way more comfortably. I wasted some of the best body years of my life in yards of patchwork. Jesus Christ! I am a fashion-fucking-nista and I had dreadlocks w. some kind of goddess-symbol bead situation woven into them. I can't believe people still wear that shit. Are they frozen in 1998?
