Prop 8 alert: stay out of my pants!
due to a huge surge in support and donations conservative and religious groups from around the nation, the inconceivable seems possible: a california state constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage could pass. therefore, the NO ON 8 campaign needs your help:
if you have any money you can contribute (just $5!), please give to the campaign. Out-of-staters can contribute too!!! if you support gay (and all minority/non-white-hetero not to mention regular old privacy/civil) rights, consider donating to the California campaign, because if this passes in CA, its sets a precedent and the domino effect on other states, and on other civil rights, will be huge.
the Courage Campaign has created a video called “Gender Auditors”. It’s a more libertarian “keep the government out of your pants” message (instead of a gay/equal rights argument) for voting “No on Prop 8″ to target conservative voters who might have been swayed by the “yes on 8″ misleading campaign. true “small government” stays out of your pants!

Class surprises lesbian teacher on wedding day, people accuse parents and teacher of using students as pawns in a political fight (see comments on this article; also, the number of comments that had to be removed, presumably for being hate speech, is pretty disturbing.)
the question here is whether the parents/people angry about allowing these children to attend their teacher’s gay wedding is whether those same people would be angry/offended if the children were taken out of school to attend their teacher’s STRAIGHT wedding. if you think it would be ok for the straight wedding but not the gay wedding, you’re prejudiced and you do not believe in equal rights. open your heart.
