we just bought tickets to see Nine Inch Nails in Las Vegas on 12/13 and i’m superfuckingexcited (that’s what i spent my birthday money on mom!)
not only have i been wanting to see them for, um…. 15 years, check out this Wired article about how spectacular the show is. not to mention that the extreme dissonance that will be caused by seeing trent reznor scream about death and capitalism in america in the heart of las vegas is just too good to pass up.

I’ll try to say this in the nicest possible way…
I think you expend more jet-fuel/auto-fuel in the course of a year, than 99.8% of the world population. And it’s almost entirely for entertainment purposes.
If you needed to spend a few years tending a garden and not leaving the homesite except for an occasional trip to the local market, would you be able to adjust to the dialed-back lifestyle ?
i would respond to this with all my counterpoints, but i don’t feel like it.

Amy~I believe you will love his show. I just saw him in Lexington, KY and the technology behind his light show is untouchable. The one aspect I didn’t like was the fact that I probably out-danced anyone at the show. I have a similar background to you as far as music goes and I am used to dancing my ass off.
I hope you have a fab time! And please, ignore Pete. Considering the amount of time you seem to spend on working for bettering the environment–I’d say you deserve a few fun trips.
