the view from 100,000 feet

is what’s going on with this election like when you’re too close to the problem, too involved in the decision, you can’t see the solution? that everyone else can see the answer but you, and they’re wondering why you’re even weighing the options?

on this anniversary of 9/11, it seems almost inevitable to me that if McCain wins, we’re going to war with Iran as part of the “war on terror”. is this really what Americans want – another endless war?

i was just asking jack how it is even possible for it to be so close. or close at all. or not a blow out.

i’ve seriously been thinking about what i will do if things don’t work out… i’m just glad i’m good at picking up languages.

You may have hit the nail on the head. I totally hadn’t viewed in in those terms, but wow, after you mentioned it……

what i find interesting about this is that i believe that obama and mcain are likely to have the same foreign policy and their differences are mostly in domestic policy.

so this shows me 1 or 2 things:

    1) approximately 1/2 of americans are fiscal and/or social conservatives
    2) foreigners are more into obama’s image than about 1/2 of americans

We had a Dutch couple stop by the gallery today, and their viewpoint fits with your map… they seemed a little surprised that we (as a nation) seem to think this is a difficult choice. But then, as evidenced by the last eight years, we do seem to have lost our collective minds as a nation.

Several times I’ve heard McCain backers say that they don’t know Obama’s views on issues. Well, he’s written two books, and the one I’ve read lays it all out pretty clearly. Which makes me wonder what it is these people are really afraid of?
