We went 100% foam a couple of years ago after getting a pretty excellent deal at CostCo. I really like our bed now, especially because it conforms to my body better as my body heat warms it up. Think of the new mattress like a new pair of boots, they need a little wearing before they are just right for you and then you, hopefully, love them to tatters.

My question is, how is Jay's back feeling as a result of sleeping on the new mattress? has it been helping him? i confess i had WAY too little sympathy for people with "bad backs" until it began happening to me. now i just think to myself, no hurry, Bad Back Person, take all the time you need to climb the stairs out of this subway station. i'm in no hurry.

yeah that's one of the ways they're more environmentally friendly - all the mattress are compressed into boxes that take up less space, therefore fewer trucks and most people can take them home so they don't have to be delivered. we fit a queen size mattress in the back seat of our jetta, but it was supposed to be fully expanded in 24 hours. we went and got a pillow-top and now it's lots better.

When my mom purchased her all foam matress, she felt the same way....
Turns out, they suck all the air out of the things for shipping (you know like the vacuum seal stuff they sell on as-seen-on-tv)
It's more that you have to give the matress a few days... a week maybe... to get all that air back in the matress.
I'll check with her again and see what she says... but i think she loves it now.
