obama girl..helping, or hurting?
i have very mixed feelings about this.
how i feel about girls wearing white heels with shorts aside, the overt sexualization of politics, especially for the democrats, who are already being accused of all the moral corruption in america by The Right, is just…. i don’t know. i understand that this is just some random pseudo-political group (barelypolitical.com: American’s New Poll Dancers) and one hot i-wanna-be-a-hollywood-star chick making risque videos so they can get lots of hits on youtube, and sure, bringing a bit of humor into the election season is definitely cool, but watching this i got this creepy feeling that this sort of media outreach is going to be extending beyond self-created-youtube-stars and into actual campaign strategies as election day draws nearer…. in the time of Myspace (which campaigns are already busy bastardizing), how else can politics compete for Gen Y’s attention and get them to the polls? at least it’s better than a bunch of Swift Boat vets lying through their teeth.
