simulcasting
i LOVED the simulcast!!
like all the others, our theatre was bumping -although it took a few songs to warm everyone up-, and when we saw all the Brooklyn peeps getting POURED on, i was certainly happy that I was warm, dry, and when we went out for set break, it was about 72 degrees and sunny, with a slight wind off the Bay
. many of my Bay Arean friends were there, AND i got to see *some* of my friends on the screen, AND i got to chat with many of my friends in various spots watching the show. that feeling was really great.
people were dancing and singing along all over, but the moment the theatre REALLY exploded was the first chorus of Suzy Greenberg. EVERYONE busted out for that – what a fantastic song! i was pretty happy with the setlist overall – i have to say the Divided Sky encore kind of sucked – they messed it up, and it was SHORT. i really really really really wanted a Bowie for the encore; plus, i was really surpised there was no Harry Hood during the show at all. watching a glowstick war on screen would have been fabulous!!
right before Axilla, i got busted (i think that song is CURSED!) for taking pics of the screen with my digicam (i wasn’t even thinking they would care.) the guy was a jerk, but i understood what he was doing. it’s totally illegal to take pics in a movie theatre. *duh* he grabbed the camera out of my hand and then made me go out with him to show me where the lost and found was, so i could pick it up after the show. i got back in the theatre JUST as Axilla was ending.
I’m pretty sure i’m so lame that if they simulcast EVERY show, i would be there. EVERY SINGLE ONE. even my hometown shows (unless they had local blackouts, like for baseball games.) because getting to Shoreline is HELL, especially on a weekday afternoon, and it’s just a pain in the ass overall, and the sound ususally sucks and i can never see from the lawn. the theatre sound was GREAT, and obviously the view was like being ON STAGE. watching Trey’s fingers play, and I especially enjoyed being able to see Page’s hands. it really helped bring out the keyboard sound during the show.
I hope they simulcast at least ONE MORE SHOW!!!!! if not, it certainly wasn’t a bad way to see my last show. i enjoyed it very much.

the whole theatre was shouting AXE-ILL-AH! AXE-ILL-AH! oh, i had such a fun time.
yeah it was totally so much fun!! and i agree i would totally go to more!!!
i think matt is now going to go to coventry now too.. after last night.
I 100% agree – our theatre was sold out and held 500 people , about twice the size of yours, right amy? the only drawback to that was our theatre screen was a lot larger than the video feed, but we all got over that real quick once the show started. great sound once it was turned up during dinner/movie.
we were bumpin’. I took about 50 pics with my camera only to have my memory card get corrupted when trying to transfer, losing ALL OF MY PICTURES. oh well. most were blurry but still. and they’ll prolly release it on dvd.
To encourage Regal to do this at least one more time, I sent them an online comment form as well as writing a one page letter and faxing it to their corporate office. While it might be too soon for them to simulcast any of the June leg, I am really pushing for them to simulcast at least Great Woods.
Hopefully we’ll hear something! !!!
I still think I preferred being at the show
